Solutionaries: Jason Mayden on How Sport Can Change Lives

Jason Mayden is one of the most inspiring people we know. He is a designer, Chicagoan, South-sider, entrepreneur, lecturer, sports junkie, youth advocate, and education and opportunity equality champion, and now President of Fear of God Athletics, the groundbreaking partnership between Adidas and Fear of God owner and founder Jerry Lorenzo.

Jason Mayden started his career with a focus to make the world a better place for future generations. Jason’s mission has always been to share his ardor for design and creativity by using his talents for good and helping today’s youth to discover their own passions. Featured on Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business and EBONY Power 100, Jason is celebrated as one of the most inspiring and influential leaders who is impacting our world today.

Jason’s journey has taken him from the College of Creative Studies in Detroit, MI to a 13 year tenure at Nike where Mayden was lead design as Jordan Brand’s Senior Global Design Director, as well as serving in the role of Director of Innovation for Nike’s Digital Sports division. At the height of his career at Nike, he was accepted into Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business as a prestigious Sloan Fellow, where he received his MS in General Management & Social Innovation in 2011.

 In 2014, he left Nike to return to Silicon Valley as a d.Fellow at Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design. While there he was the first Designer-In-Residence at the world renown venture capital firm, Accel. It was there that Jason researched, incubated and launched the generation-shaping award winning enterprise, Super Heroic. Super Heroic’s mission was to “entertain, delight and surprise every child in the world through imaginative, and interactive play.” 

Currently Mayden is the CEO & Founder of Trillicon Valley, an award winning design, investment & strategy consultancy. This new venture  specializes in the creation of products, services and experiences in addition to providing multi-stakeholder partnership negotiations services for Athletes, Entertainers, and Global Creatives. Trillicon’s past clients include the NBA, NFL, MLB, Disney, Google, Spotify, ESPN, Andressen Horwitz and Fear of God to name a few. 

Mayden, also serves as the President of Fear of God Athletics, a newly formed partnership between Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God and global sportswear giant Adidas.
